Your home’s plumbing system might be outdated, unless you recently built your house or it’s only a few years old. Pipes are exposed to wear-and-tear over time, which causes rust, corrosion, and eventually disrepair.
You don’t have to worry about a burst pipe or flooding, though. Watch for these signs it’s time to replace your plumbing system before disaster strikes:
• Brown or dark water. Discoloured water is often the result of corrosion in your pipes. If left untreated, mineral deposits can clog them.
• Low water pressure. You could have a clog in your plumbing, or leaky pipes. Leaks can damage your foundation and framing, causing mould and wood rot.
• If you have exposed pipes, check them for bumps, flaking, dimpling, discoloration, and anything else that looks unusual.
Don’t replace your plumbing system when it’s too late. Call BDCP to take care of all your plumbing problems instead. Our skilled team will evaluate your current plumbing’s condition, and will advise you on what to do next.
